Poverty is seen in many forms as starving, or not having much money, without fine homes, living from day to day just to stay alive. Poverty is visible in God’s eyes for he sees all of us each day, every second of each day. But what about unspoken poverty which is visible to God’s eyes, seen as Spiritual poverty? Too many preachers will talk about how to get wealthy in this physical world, but they do not address how to live in a rich Spiritual heritage. God talks about feeding the poor, we can do this with our money by giving to others, as we should do led by God guidance to do so. But the rich spiritual heritage in which I speak is about teaching others of the things of God. We are called to lift up the poor in spirit to receive blessings from God.
How can we as Christians be found doing God’s will, if we never teach another about how God has blessed us? Following in examples of the disciples and apostles, we should be willing to talk about the love of God to everyone we meet, as God’s Holy Spirit leads us to speak. Poverty in spiritual food is being weak in the eyes of God to uphold his Holy name to others. Just as we love to sit down to a table full of our favorite foods, we should love to eat from a table spread out before us of heavenly food. Feeding our Spirit is important to keep us alive in Christ, as we search out His heart for us. Poverty is always with us in physical worldly needs, for we see many poor people who live around us. But poverty of spiritual food is another thing all together, we are called to fill mouths of the poor, with true bread of life which is Jesus.
People with great wealth of homes, more money than they can count, with big fancy cars, can still be found living in poverty of spiritual growth and Truth of God. It isn’t about how wealthy we are in this physical earth, but how rich we are in the” Truth” called the “Word of God” which is Jesus. Spiritual poverty is a decision we make from day to day, whether or not to listen and grow in the truth of God, as he teaches us daily. Poverty is a state of mind when it comes to living in the will of God. We should know how to read God’s word of Holiness, if we cannot read, then we should be seeking God to teach us of his Spirit. God teaches us how to search for and acquire His will to be done in our lives.
New age teaching from men to acquire wealth in this world is rampant, but it is not the Truth of God. Jesus said the poor you will have always with you, this we can see in this earth. But to have His Spirit is what everyone should be desiring not wealth of a world that will waste away to nothing. Tell of how Jesus has set us free, look up and see deliverance in the name of Jesus as he comes to us. A story is told everyday to children, they love to hear of fairies, wizards, or ghost. But we should be telling stories of Jesus to our children, to raise them up in Spiritual homes to follow Christ, so they will not be lost to God. Fairy tales help to grow imagination in children, but the Truth of God sets them free from a world of darkness.
What if we could look inside the heart of a true born again believer, seeing Jesus inside, or by looking upon a well of life giving water flowing freely inside of them. What would come to our minds then? Every Word of God is Truth and there is more joy in a true Christian, than someone who lives in a millionaire home. Poverty of the spirit happens when we refuse the word of God to lead us. Everyone will stand accountable for how they have lived their lives, whether in full Spiritual guidance from God, or in full fleshly lusts of this world. Teach someone about the love of Jesus, then just maybe we have won a soul from a multitude of sins.
Today God is calling to come out of poverty of flesh into the heritage of wealth in His Spirit, come away from destruction of lies into truth of everlasting life. God calls for us to be a separated people from the world of darkness, to walk in Light of Truth which is Jesus. Poverty robs us from knowing spiritual blessings of God inside of our spirit. Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent. 20 Behold I stand at the door; and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.(KJV)
We cannot be slack in our understanding of who God is for he reveals Himself to us. Though some may want to declare they do not know God, we all will see and know him on the day of judgment, we will know Jesus is Lord. Starving for the word of God is seen in many churches today, as they would rather teach false doctrines than the Truth of God which cut asunder the hearts fleshly desires. Poverty will give hunger to thirsty people for food to sustain their flesh, but poverty of spiritual food slowly kills the spiritual man inside of those who walk in darkness rather than Light.
Bondage to a world of flesh is where the enemy wants to keep those who have blinded eyes and deaf ears. The enemy will try every way to deceive the righteous people if he can, for he wants to destroy us because of the Light of Truth inside of us. Darkness cannot stand in Light, neither can satan stand in the presence of Jesus. Let us draw strength from one another seeking truth from God as he speaks unto us. Let us be bold in giving warning to those who walk in rebellious flesh, as the Spirit gives us heed to do so. Freeing a soul from bondage of darkness is the Lord’s work, not ours, but we must be a willing vessel for the Lord to speak through us. We are not able to speak anything unless we first hear the Lord speak it unto us. Praise comes from a heart hearing songs of love from Jesus as he puts it inside of us.
Let us seek truth from God, filling up our spirit with manna from his table, to walk in a new way of life free from poverty of sins. If we are not reading the Word of God, filling our minds with truth from his teachings, then how will we know if what man is teaching is truth? God said, we would have no need for man to teach us, for He would teach us of Himself by writing down his laws upon our hearts. But He also calls us to be a five fold ministry for him as apostle’s, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. We all form the body of Christ, as we work in the calling wherein he has called us, being faithful only to Jesus himself. Many people are in poverty without knowing they are in need of spiritual healing and food for their souls. Too many pastors, have fed upon the sheep, but have not fed the sheep with the word of truth. Time for watchman’s to come forth and blow the trumpet, sounding alarms through out the land, for Jesus is coming and we must be found doing the will of God.
People are starving for Truth of God’s word, come to the table of God and eat, for all shall be filled with His manna. We must seek the face of God, to hear what is Truth from Him, come let us go and be about the Father’s business, so we feed starving, helpless people in poverty, with healing manna which is truth given to us from God. Walk boldly in the calling which the Lord has given to you, be faithful to be found doing his will. We are all doing a mighty work for the Lord, if we are faithful to be found to be using our gifts which he has given to us. Poverty has no place in the kingdom of God, let us walk in Spirit to be Spiritually fed by Jesus’ Holy Spirit.
